If you have no background or experience in management accounting, you can take the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting first. This course has no prerequisites, so anyone can enrol and learn the essential accounting and finance skills.

CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting is also a qualification in its own right, so if you aspire to become a Chartered Global Management Accountant, you can use this qualification, AAT Level 4 Accounting, or any equivalent qualification as your formal entry route to CIMA Professional Qualification. You'll start with the CIMA Operational Level in your CGMA Professional Qualification journey, followed by the CIMA Management Level, and complete it with the CIMA Strategic Level last.

Completing the CIMA management accounting training depends on various factors, such as the preferred learning style, prior knowledge in the industry, and the amount of time you can dedicate to studying each week.

The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting qualification is equivalent to a Level 4 qualification, equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate accountancy or finance degree.
